Information to Help You Learn
Normally, marketing folks try to entice you into filling out personal preference
information in surveys as a means for them to learn more about you, so they
can sell you something. Not so with this one! While it's true that we do want to find out more about you and the technologies you use, it's not for our benefit, it's for yours! We want to learn
more about what types of technologies and programs you use only so that
we can write more informative articles for you, our faithful readers!
It only makes sense—if none of our readers use Windows 3.x or 95, why
waste space writing about it. Yet, if there still are a fair amount of
Win95 users out there, then articles on using that system are still valid. Same
goes for newer technologies. If many readers have new technology equipment,
but don't know how to use it, then maybe tutorials would help you get the most
from your system. And even more exciting is the fact that maybe we can entice
more writers to share what they know. Say we have a lot of Firewire users out
there, who don't understand the technology too well. Maybe we can help find
some expert who is willing to share what they've learned? Or, if a particular
Microsoft program isn't being covered here, and we have a lot of users of that
program, I'm heading to the MVP pool of experts to whine for help! But first,
we need to find out what you want to know!
So please take a little time to fill out the TechTrax Survey and do your best
to help us understand what you use and what you want to learn more about. Then
we'll do what we can in the future to provide the help you need.
And if you do fill out the majority of the survey form, your email address
will be entered in our drawing. We will select the email addresses of two
readers who will get to select two prizes, per winner, from the list

How It Works
Go to the survey page at http://www.mousetrax.com/techtrax/survey.html.
Fill in as much information as you can provide. Click Submit. As long
as you have filled out the majority of the form (3/4s of the questions),
your name will be entered into our drawing pool of email names.
Note! In an effort to insure some readers don't just enter their email
address without filling in the information requested, the survey will be analyzed
by the program code. If too many questions have been skipped, the form will
be rejected and the email name being submitted with that data, will also be
rejected from our drawing database. So be sure you complete all applicable questions!
The survey is written in two parts. To insure your privacy, the data in the
first part will be sent to one database and, if the number of answers are valid,
the email address at the bottom will be approved and passed to our second database
as a valid name for our drawing. So we won't know what answers you provided.
We'll only know that you did help us out with a fair amount of answers
and you're deserving an opportunity to win!
The Winners
On Friday, November 29th, the drawing will end! We will take the list
of all eligible email names, run a random number selecting applet to come up
with two numbers. The first number will be matched to the person whose email
name sits in that database ID slot. They will be contacted via email and have
two days to respond. They will be allowed to pick two prize selections
from the list below. The second winner will be allowed to pick two items
from the remaining list of prizes. If a winner does not reply within two days,
their name will be discarded and a new winner will be selected. Winners will
be listed in the December issue of TechTrax.
