Cool Web Sites

Holiday Sites

by Stacy Chesney

With Santa busying himself to bring goodies for those of you who have been good little boys and girls, it was time to find some fun holiday sites to keep you busy this month.

Anyone can easily enter the name of their holiday into their favorite search engine and get a pile of listings for all types of web sites related to that event.

The History Channel

http://www.historychannel.com/exhibits/holidays/main.html

This is one of the coolest holiday web sites I found when it comes to information!

There you can learn all the details about your holiday and, even better, learn about the holidays of others. Each of the three main holidays of the season are well represented.

Christmas Sites Central

http://www.christmas-decorations-and-ornaments.com/index.html

Don't know who runs this site, but since so many companies are represented, it appears to just be a nice collection of everything you want to know...or buy...for the holiday.

Christmas Around the World

http://www.soon.org.uk/country/christmas.htm

This is a simple site, but is interesting to see how people celebrate the holiday in different parts of the world.

Santa Land

http://www.santaland.com/

This site is loaded with links, including an official countdown clock. Although I guess it depends on what part of the world you're in to know how accurate it is!

Clause.com

http://www.claus.com/

Tons of stuff to check out at Clause.com. Click on pictures to go to other parts of the site.

Merry Christmas

http://www.merry-christmas.com/

From recipes to games and stories, you'll probably find it here.

Norad Santa Tracking Site

http://www.noradsanta.org/

Norad is the real radar tracking web site. But for Christmas, they set their radar to track the jolly ol' elf and his reindeer. So be sure to hit this site later in the month with the kids.

Happy Chanukah

http://www.holidays.net/chanukah/

History and some good links can be found here.

Hanukkah - Not Just for Kids

http://www.night.net/kids/hanukkah.html-ssi

Lots of additional links to investigate.

Twisted Tunes

http://www.twistedtunes.com/show/twistedtunes/xmas.asp

There always a few of them in the crowd, aren't there? So for the more warped amongst you, you might find some fun in this holiday twisted tune site.

Screen Savers

http://www.screensavers.com/index.html?SS_ID=137_0_0_1

Tons of screen savers for every taste. Each saver has notations regarding scans to check them for spyware and viruses, so it appears to be a pretty cool site.

The Chanuka Song

http://www.lyricsdepot.com/adam-sandler/the-chanuka-song.html

For those of you who can't enjoy the holidays without hearing Adam Sandler's Chanuka Song...here are the lyrics. All together now...

Kwanza Directory

http://www.ritesofpassage.org/kwanza-b.htm

You'll find a load of information and links here.

Kwanza kids

http://www.kidspartyfun.com/pages/themes/kwanza.html

If you're planning a Kwanza party, you'll want to hit this site for lots of great ideas.

Happy Holidays...whichever one you celebrate!
