Do you have famous money in your pocket?
No, I don't mean special bills that are worth more than their denomination due to being very old or very special...but money that is well known? Bills that have traveled the US and Canada in a world-wind trip from pocket to purse to billfold and even to laundry!
I stumbled across a fun/silly web site that allows you to enter the serial numbers of the money in your pocket to track it's location. Obviously, not every bill will be entered. But you might discover that you have quite a famous bill in your possession.
For the US, you can go to Where's George at http://www.wheresgeorge.com.
Canadians can go to http://www.whereswilly.com.
In fact, if you go to either site, you'll find links under the Fun/Tools menu to links for tracking money from many other countries.
Once you arrive at the site for your currency, you can enter details about any money you have on hand.
Although many bills don't have any previous entries, if you're lucky enough to hit on one that's done some traveling, you can view the details regarding the miles it's traveled.
Some bills even have a map to show where it's traveled.
And the site(s) have lots of other fun links where those of you who find cash interesting can go to learn more.
