Who Needs Motivation When You Have Reality?

If you're not familiar with Despair.com, it's time you started de-motivating yourself.<snicker>

Yes, motivation is a good thing. But how many cheerleader corporate meetings have you sat (or slept) through with some executive dancing around up front trying to encourage and motivate the staff to sell more, do more, be better customer service reps, blah, blah, blah?

Sure, this world is going to hell in a hand basket and rude people are taking over. So motivation to do a good job for the customer is a valuable commodity and there are too many people working out there who don't understand this concept. But for those of us who do, the constant rant can become tiresome. So it's fun to lighten up a bit.

And to spur you on in your quest for de-motivation...www.despair.com is the place to go. Despair has made a business out of reality. Companies don't really care about your satisfaction, they just want your money, right! Despair.com admits that face.<grin>

I've been getting the annual Despair calendar for years now as a fun giggle reminding me just how rotten the business world can be. If you're a serious person, you may think this is foolish. But for those of you who get the joke, this site is a riot!

And now they have videos!

Or do you have a favorite pessimist who needs a gift? Here you go.

No doubt about when the glass is half empty!

Or maybe you have a valentine who needs to be reminded to "Up yer meds."

Comedians know that the funniest material is the stuff that hits home. When people see their own problems and issue in the light of day and realize that others have to deal with these problems, too...it's funny!

In the corporate world, there are tons of problems and issues workers have to deal with every day. Jump over to Despair.com and get a good giggle out of the fact that they brought corporate screw-ups into the light and are having fun with the concept.

It may help you realize that your office environment can only get worse! <wink>
