The good news is that Word is a very powerful software program with lots of features. The bad news is that Word is a very powerful software program with lots of features.
Yup...the same comment is both a benefit and a curse. Yes, you can do a lot with Word, but that also means there are a lot of commands, features and options and lots of ways to get yourself in trouble if you're not a power user who understands all these controls.
Many users will just open Word and start typing without much consideration for the document layout. In many cases, it's not until after they have typed out pages of content that they start to realize they need to adjust the basic layout. But many users don't know where to find the settings they need. Furthermore, some of these settings would have been easier to handle if the user considered them before they typed out pages and pages of content.
In this article, I'll explain some of these important settings and discuss when/why you might want to use them.
