DropDowns: Capturing and Using Information

by Dian Chapman, MVP, MOS

Skill rating level 4.

Well, I was having so much fun with this video, that it ran slightly over the single video limit. So it's sliced into two parts this month.

First I show you the finished form, which allows you to make a selection from a dropdown form field and have your selection inserted into a document. Then I show you how to access and display a custom dialog box that also offers choices and puts your selection into the document. Then I show you how to create and code both methods.

Both solutions insert the user's choice into the document in such a way that users can change their mind over and over to continually change or update the information. AND...I include the form created in the video with the code, so you have a head start.

Part one of the video shows the form and how to handle form field dropdowns. The second part of the video moves into the custom dialog box portion with it's own dropdown and shows the differences when coding both methods.
