Many of you have received ecards from me over the years. Yes, I'm partial to Jacquie Lawson's cards because of the dogs. But her site has apparently now been sold to American Greetings and the pros have taken over. That's great because those cards are still beautiful. But the original Jacquie Lawson site has not been updated and has been somewhat streamlined. That means that the user interface is not all that friendly.
You have to click or control click (something you'd have to know because they don't tell you) to add more names to lists. And the receipts you get are cumbersome because you have to open each just to see who opened their card. There are other issues that I can't think of right now...but overall, I'd give up on those cards were it not for Chudleigh, the wonderful black lab, of which I have one, too. So I'm partial to those cards.
But for the rest of it, I now prefer Ojolie.com cards. And they...Frederikke and Timothy (the husband/wife team that runs the site...she the artist, he the technician) have one of my most favorite Birthday cards, where a dog comes up to devour the nice cake that was just made. Too fun! (And too familiar.<g>)

I've written about both sites in past articles. You can read more about my previous love of Jacquie Lawson cards here: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=453 and about my new love, Ojolie cards...which also has a beautiful sympathy card of hope, here: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=791
Well, the wonderful Frederikke and Timothy have offered up more freebies to our readers. They have given me three free subscriptions to give away to some lucky readers.
If you are a free subscriber to TechTrax, click the button below to enter this drawing. If you are a paid member, you can enter the drawing below, but also know that you can go to the TechTrax members' site where you'll find a button to enter a second drawing, for members only, that will give you two more shots at becoming a winner. One free subscription will go to this open drawing below...and two additional subscriptions will go to the members only drawing. So members have three shots at winning. Free subscribers...one.
The drawing will be held February 2, 2009 (Chicago time). After the groundhog checks his shadow, we'll draw some winners. The winner's emails will be given to Ojolie.com. You'll then have one year to use their cards for free.
Granted, the annual membership is a mere $10...so even if you're not a winner, it's worth the few bucks. Think of the postage and card costs you'll save in a year by sending beautiful eCards to friends, family versus having to shop, address, stamp, and mail standard cards. And Ojolie.com allows you to enter your own subject, so friends will truly know the cards have come from you and not a spammer, since you can address the email in your own, personal manner.
In fact, a new benefit of their site is that you can now insert your own, personal photos into greeting cards. How cool! Send an email with the new picture of the baby! Or funny photo of your pets. Maybe a vacation photo in some pretty ecard? They're working hard to add all kinds of new features and their addressbook is much faster/easier to use than that on Jacquie Lawson's site. Plus, the receipts you get from Ojolie.com show the recipient's name right in the subject line...no need to waste time opening tons of receipts just to see who got your card! Just look at the subject and delete.
