Karen Clark lives in Rocklin, California, a small town northeast of Sacramento. She works as a Technical Documentation Specialist in the corporate headquarters of a not-for-profit healthcare system in nearby Roseville. Her regular duties include writing, editing, and publishing technical documents and end-user guides. Additionally, she provides help-desk support to corporate staff for Word, Excel, Acrobat, and FrameMaker applications and teaches Word classes to administrative personnel.
Primarily self-taught in word processing, desktop publishing, and graphics applications, Karen stays in close contact with online newsgroups and other resources to help her when she gets stumped. “I’ve learned more in the past two or three years than ever before, thanks to the wealth of information available on the Internet,” Karen states. “I absorb as much as I can, and I keep a folder of well-organized Internet bookmarks.”
Her passion is music—Karen plays classical piano and guitar, and sings in her church choir. She and her husband, Brad, are true San Francisco Giants baseball fans. They are very active in their church and community. They enjoy remodeling their home and raising their two dogs, a Yellow Lab named Lucille and a Golden Retriever named Will (pictured above with Karen). Karen has a grown daughter, Niccole, and Brad has a teenage son, Ryan.
