Shawn K. Hall is a total geek (the kind that doesn't bite the heads off
chickens).
Shawn worked on his first computer in the US Navy where, after over a
year of intensive medical training, he was assigned to the IT department
of his first duty station. There he built hundreds of computers and
installed thousands of applications...just in the first month. After retiring
from the Navy in '96, he worked for government consultants, HMO's and
taught at a technical school in Modesto, California.
Following the dot-bomb era, Shawn unsuccessfully tried leaving the industry by
moving to less "technically inclined" states. After spending three years
bouncing across different cities and states, he settled back "home" in
California, with his wife Annette and their son Zachary.
Annette and Shawn homeschool their son and operate a technical
consultancy within the Sierra mountains, providing internet development,
hosting and website management to their worldwide clients.
Shawn has a variety of technical skills, but he prefers all forms of
scripting, from batch to JavaScript to Perl to VBScript, application and
process automation, as well as video and graphic design.
His personal interests include composing music and poetry, playing his
"chipped" 12-string Ovation guitar, and he also enjoys collecting (and
watching) movies.
