Before I get into telling you about all the exciting stuff we have for you
this month, allow me to pass along a sincere wish from all of us at TechTrax

First this month, and very exciting for all our readers, we welcome yet another
Microsoft MVP to our writing team! The fun and incredible Herb
Tyson has now joined us, bringing our list of Microsoft
MVP writers to 10. When I first became an MVP in 1995, Herb, one of the
first MVPs, was there holding the door open for me and welcoming me with a big,
friendly smile. Herb is an extremely talented guy. Besides his multi-disciplinary
doctorate and technical expertise, he's a terrific musician (which I can truly
say, because I spent my own money purchasing his CDs). I love his bio
pictures, they do a great job of portraying both his wheat (professional)
and frosting (fun) sides! And this month, Herb shows us how to create a cool
macro that allows you to use the currently shortcutless Paste
Special feature, with new ease.
And we're also thrilled to welcome Doreen
Yale, who recently received her MOS
(formerly MOUS) certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist, joining Beth
Melton and Linda
Johnson as our third Office Specialist, who volunteers here to provide you
with some of the best articles related to Microsoft Office that you can find
on the web! Doreen spent most of her life living in England and recently moved
to Canada. In her inspiring first
article, Doreen allows us to share her feelings of what it's like to be
blind and make the decision to uproot her whole life for new found happiness.
This month also brings articles from Alan
Wheeler and Alex
Angelopoulos back to us. Alan started writing for TechTrax in its infancy,
but he informed me that the new school year would take him away for awhile,
as he has been busy taking up the challenges of getting his degree as a system
engineer and developer. This month, Alan brings us a series explaining the battles
blind AOL users face and what recent law suits have done to help improve
their keyboard access to the software. And Alex shares with us his informative
rant regarding important issues you need to consider when attempting to
purchase a suitable mouse to upgrade your system. Alex hasn't been available
to do a lot of writing for TechTrax because Microsoft has been keeping him busy
getting his expert advice on Windows scripting issues. But as with all our busy
professional writers here, we'll take what we can get from you all.
And speaking of busy professionals, allow me to take a moment here to remind
