NO! I'm not kidding you, folks. One of Microsoft's latest creative
ideas is to show users how they can handle special events using the tools you'll
find in the latest version of the Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft XP, or 2002
as the apps themselves are versioned, won't help you with fertility issues<smirk>,
but Microsoft has set up a web site with cool ideas about how you can use the
applications in Office to do everything from creating a baby calendar, to designing
your baby shower invites, announcements and thank yous. The images in this article
represents a sample of some of the special event clipart you'll be able to use.
I have to admit, the site presents some good ideas...like using Excel's spreadsheets to
plan your parties, using FrontPage to create a web photo album to show off the
little bundle, or using PowerPoint to make an album you can compile and email
to friends to view at home, without needing web access to download
pictures, or using Outlook to create a custom calendar, keep your contacts organized
and send out group email announcements.
Helpful links point you to the Microsoft Template Gallery where you'll find many pre-designed
templates, such as baby shower party planning spreadsheets, invites, photo albums and even
a family record book template for Word.
So if an addition is in the works in your family, I suggest you go check

It's also a great way for gramma or the family computer wiz to get involved
by helping out the expectant parents by saving them tons of time and/or giving them
a nice electronic gifts, such as the Family Record Book.
